Absolutely. The younger children’s schooling/learning time shouldn’t soak up much time, and the older children will be in the phase of “self learning” or “self teaching” so your presence is for support. You may need to pick a particular type of homeschool to peak a child’s interest so they stay self motivated, but what a great trait to learn in their youth!
Homeschool is not Distance Learning. Distance Learning is the school choosing what your child learns and how your child should learn. Every child is so different in how they learn, or what they enjoy, and homeschool will actually allow you the freedom to choose a style and/curriculum that will help your child succeed and enjoy the journey of learning. Not to mention a happy child will make a happy homeschool parent!
No, you will want to notify the school and pick one of the few options in homeschool filing paperwork to have on hand or in some cases the schools will want to keep the paperwork on file. More details on the homeschool filing paperwork located in “Resources”.
Our website has a special section just for you! - “Navigating the System”. In this section a parent or guardian will find resources, groups of people/parents, and action items to protect their child/student from government over reach while still remaining in a school system.
